The Jacobs-led team will serve as MARTA's CPMO Supplemental Services Consultant and manage the construction aspects. A joint venture between Jacobs and H. J. Russell & Company was selected to support the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) as it embarks on its expansion program. This position will be filled through the joint venture programs, JRMT, and the Jacobs Russell MARTA Team. Please note: Currently, there is no sponsorship for this role.

Summary of position:

The Cost Manager is responsible for the overall cost component assigned to the MARTA Capital Program, the comprehensive evaluation of the Program Cost status, and periodic reports. In addition, the Cost Manager is responsible for monitoring Cost Reports and updates submitted by the Program/Project through the cost engineers to determine compliance with contract requirements, establish proper documentation and filing of cost reports, and analyze and support cost problems that the project contractors may not have recognized.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares, evaluates, maintains, and distributes project schedules for various types of capital projects related to the MARTA transit system's expansion, renovation, rehabilitation, or maintenance, including labor, material, and equipment resources and costs required to perform the project activities.

  • Prepares schedule-related information for contract documents, such as contract conditions pertaining to the time available for completion of work, scheduling specifications, and schedule-related exhibits.

  • Integrates schedules maintained by contractors or consultants into an overall MARTA schedule for a project or program of projects.

  • Employee assists Scoping & Screening Analyst and project owners as required in preparing project origination documents.

  • Reviews and analyzes progress schedules, including labor productivity, resource usage, and fund expenditures. Provides scheduling support as required to resolve changes, claims, and other issues related to Authority projects.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a similar subject is preferred.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Cost Professional CCP) preferred

Ideally, you'll also have:

Eight to Ten (8 to 10) years of experience Managing a team of Cost Engineers/professionals in a Capital Project Organization.
