AutoZone, Inc. Planogram Specialist in Monterrey NL, Mexico

Position Summary:

Manage and ensure proper execution of the plan-o-gram process that includes utilizing merchandising concepts and retail space planning to maximize selling opportunities and increase overall sales. The merchandiser has to be a planogram specialist who works with other team to analyze product sales patterns, recommends facings and mins products should have, display strategy, and which products should surround it. She also assures effective and timely implementation in accordance to the annual category update calendar.

Position Responsibilities:

Builds , develops and designs an original and correct merchandising ( POG) , based on a preliminary review of the categories , which involves details of the situation of the market category Vs AZ Mexico , such as: inventory , Vendor Funding for the purchase of fixtures and signage , resolution of specific exit strategies by product type , location of the category within the sales floor and adjacent of the categories. Manages and secures, through JDA Space Planning, Mainframe and Shelftag, the correct implementation of planograms , description tag , sequence , minimum, maximum, pictures and other key elements that allows an accurate communication to the stores (using ZAP Format) ; by doing this the Operations team can perform a proper implementation of the project.

Supervise and coordinate the functions and projects of Planogramas specialists. Serves as a guide in special or complicated projects, ensuring the best performance of planograms specialists and avoiding errors in implementation.

Works together with the CM, ACM and the Analyst to review different category kpis, such as historical sales data to compare behaviors exhibition Vs previous years, current trends in the marketplace to identify potential sales opportunities, business lines, differentiation between regions, sales in the last 13 periods and the last 8 weeks Vs time of SKU 's in-store, gross margin, profit, product returns per year (turns) and space square foot profitability, 80/20 product analysis, cross merchandise , promotional ideas (extension arms, special signage) in order to make recommendations and maximize the product performance into the planogram.

Supports the resolution about technical issues related to planograms and joints efforts with other departments as follows: tracking the orders (fixtures and signage), monitoring the exit strategies, reviewing inventory levels, schedule recalls and performs some other situations that might cause a delay into the release planogram process.

Liaises with Category Managers and Operations Management to ensure that the results about optimizing space and performance provide positive results, improving financial kpis as a result of the effective product placement.

Does category space validations in stores with CMs and ACMs to be used as an input for category assortment definition in line reviews. Assures proper pog communication to stores and solves questions regarding pogs and space allocation in stores.

Performs some other tasks and key projects assigned by the Manager for his/her own development, such as periodical visits to stores to verify the integrity of planograms and display opportunities in order to improve the space allocation, effective communication with the counterparty in AZ SSC (USA) to improve processes for AZ Mexico, New Stores Set Up , etc.

Position Requirements:

  • Level of Formal Education: A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent.

  • Years of Experience: Three to five years.
