Reports to: Chief Office of Systems and Operations

Term of Employment: 12 months

Employment Status: Full-Time

Pay Grade: Admin II

Salary Range: $50,607.24 - $93,476.16

FLSA Status: Exempt

Work Hours: 8am-5pm

Executive Director Position Summary

Overview: The Executive Director is the key management leader of Partners In Education (PIE). The Executive Director supports the mission and vision of PIE, serving as its chief executive officer, and as such is responsible for carrying out the goals and outcomes related to PIEs mission, as set by the PIE Board of Directors. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing strategic planning and implementation of PIEs projects and programs, as well as ensuring proper Board governance.

The Executive Director is a mission-driven, collaborative, and innovative leader and serves as the brand ambassador and champion of PIE in the community, which includes connecting with a constituency of donors/supporters, recipients of services, individuals, associations, agencies, government, businesses, and other institutions.

The Executive Director will leverage the power of relationships and networks, working across private, public, corporate, and non-profit sectors to continually fulfill the mission and vision of PIE. Other key duties include grant writing, fundraising, marketing, and community outreach.

Grant Writer for Craven County Schools

Overview: We are seeking a skilled Grant Writer to join our team dedicated to securing funding opportunities for our K-12 school system. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to effectively communicate the needs and objectives of our school system to potential funding sources. This role will be instrumental in identifying, researching, and applying for grants to support various programs, projects, and initiatives within the district.

The position reports directly to the Partners In Education Board of Directors and District Administrator for Craven County Schools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities-Executive Director PartnersInEducation

  1. Report to and work closely with the PIE Board of Directors in developing key policy and fundraising decisions and to continue increasing the overall visibility of the organization.

  2. Oversee fundraising planning and implementation, including identifying resource requirements, developing innovative future strategies, researching funding sources, establishing an effective process to approaching donors, submitting proposals and grants, and overseeing fundraising records and documentation.

  3. Provide guidance to the Board in their efforts to establish and maintain strategic planning and implementation.

  4. Planning and developing an annual plan of work, provide status reports to the executive committee and board, and prepare and present executive committee and board meeting agendas.

  5. Serve as PIEs primary spokesperson to the organizations constituents, the media, and public.

  6. Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance PIEs Mission.

  7. Oversee marketing and other communication efforts including keeping the website and social media fresh, motivational, interesting, and complete with current information.

  8. Coordinate Board and Executive Committee meetings and assist the Board and Committee chairpersons with their reports.

  9. Establish employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and for the day-to-day operation of the nonprofit.

  10. Review and approve contracts for services.

  11. Supervise and collaborate with the organizations staff and volunteers.

  12. Establish representatives at each school site and department and recruit new Ambassadors as needed. Plan two socials each year to communicate PIE events and plans. Stay in contact with Ambassadors regarding all programs.

  13. Other duties as assigned by the PIE Board of Directors.

Skill Required

Professional Qualifications Needed:(Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.)

  1. A bachelors degree.
  2. Transparent and high integrity leadership.
  3. Evidence of high ethical and character standards, passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.
  4. Five or more years senior nonprofit management experience or other career experiences determined to be related and equivalent.
  5. Experience and skill in working with a Board of Directors.
  6. High level strategic thinking and planning. Ability to envision and convey the organizations strategic future to the staff, board, volunteers, and donors.
  7. Ability to effectively communicate the organizations mission to donors, volunteers, and the overall community.
  8. Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with all stakeholders and diverse groups of people.
  9. A history of successfully generating new revenue streams and improving financial results.
  10. Active fundraising experience. Excellent donor relations skills and understanding of the funding community.
  11. Strong marketing and public relations abilities to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures.
  12. Demonstrated strength in establishing relationships with individuals and organizations of influence including funders, partner agencies, and volunteers.
  13. Solid organizational abilities, including planning program development and task facilitation.
  14. Demonstrated proficiency in technology and standard office software applications. Must have experience with Wordpressand Google and MicroSoft software.
  15. Strong financial management skills, including budget planning, analysis, decision making, and reporting.
  16. Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including public speaking ability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities-Craven County Schools Grant Writer

1.Research Funding Opportunities: Conduct comprehensive research to identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other sources that align with the goals and priorities of our school system. 2.Grant Proposal Development: Develop high-quality grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation, in accordance with grant guidelines and requirements. 3.Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with district administrators and other stakeholders to gather information, assess needs, and develop compelling grant proposals that address the priorities of our school system. 4.Grant Application Management: Manage the grant application process from start to finish, including coordinating with internal teams to gather necessary information, meeting deadlines, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements. 5.Grant Reporting: Monitor grant-funded projects and programs, collect data, and prepare timely and accurate reports for grant funders and the Board of Education to demonstrate outcomes and impact. 6.S
