DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Legal Assistant 2, you will independently perform a variety of complex clerical legal assignments in support of the Office of Chief Administrative Law Judge (OALJ) for the PLCB.  You will utilize the Bureau of Licensing Inquiry System to monitor the status of licenses on assigned cases in order to effectuate proper penalties imposed and the subsequent mailing of adjudications.  You will also transcribe dictation consisting of legal opinions of judges, correspondence, reports, decisions, legal research, procedural documents and other related legal documents, while ensuring grammatical accuracy. This professional is responsible for preparing correspondence, reports, decisions, opinions, memorandums and related documents utilizing computer equipment, formats, programs, and files.  Additional duties include preparing travel expenses, directing and screening telephone communications, and ordering office supplies as necessary.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, however in-office attendance may be required as operational needs dictate.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters Northwest Office Building in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Legal Assistant 1; or Four years of responsible clerical, investigative or enforcement work including one year of legal clerical support experience;or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
