Sutter Health Compensation Manager in Sacramento, California

Position Overview:

Provides operational leadership to the Compensation team. Manages the administration of base pay and focal merit process, job evaluations, and internal and external pay analyses. Ensures base and incentive pay programs are in compliance with plan design. Plans and organizes operations and resources to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services.

Guide compensation consultation work within the organization to align operational leadership with objectives and programs. Collaborate effectively with leaders in finance, human resources, and operations. Provide expert guidance to leadership through planned and ad hoc advisory presentations. Manage compensation structure across the matrixed organization to sync competitive pay practices.

Job Description :

The person selected for this role must come on site as needed for meetings, work etc and live in California.

EDUCATION:

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

Bachelor's: Human Resources, Business Administration or related field

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

8 years recent relevant experience

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of compensation operations, best practices and processes.

Knowledge of applicable wage and hour laws and regulations.

Familiar with current and emerging total reward trends and practices.

Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor, motivate and engage team.

Ability to bring individuals together to resolve differences/issues or to achieve a common understanding or acceptance of a solution.

Critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to identify and analyze trends/issues and to implement solid solutions.

Ability to manage projects, develop plan to accomplish objectives, identify obstacles and resolve operational issues.

Organization and planning skills to effectively delegate, manage and/or re-prioritize activities and projects to meet deadlines wihle delivery quality service and maintaining a high degree of responsiveness.

Displays a customer service focus in all decisions and actions.

Demonstrates a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues to manage/minimize risks.

Ability to establish trust and credibility, and to interact and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of role’s duties while respecting cultural and linguistic differences and fostering an inclusive work environment.

Ability to communicate through verbal and written means, and to present information to a variety of audiences.

Ability to handle difficult circumstances and make sound business decisions with little direction.

Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with changing business priorities.

Displays integrity and ethics in handling confidential and sensitive information.

Pay Range is $69.25 to $103.88 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
