Parsons Corporation Sr. Associate Sustainability & Environmental Specialist in United Arab Emirates

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Sr. As sociate Sustainability & Environmental Specialist to join our team! In this role you will get to contribute to the sustainability and environmental strategies for the delivery of challenging high-quality infrastructure and masterplan projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Be part of multidisciplinary project teams and manage complex projects which require sustainability input and environmental compliance, from conception to completion.

  • Manage and present to the clients during design workshops and meetings.

  • Develop sustainability, environmental and waste management strategies tailored for each project’s aspirations and requirements.

  • Be curious and suggest alternative solutions and innovative ideas for each project’s vision.

  • Develop technical reports and studies for sustainability certification and environmental documentation as part of project deliverables.

  • Prepare RFPs to appoint the most suitable sub-consultants for any given project, assess and manage the appointed sub-consultants, and review their S&E deliverables for accuracy and quality.

  • Mentor, support, overview and review the junior members inputs and deliverables.

  • Be experienced with the bidding process to win new work.

  • Expected to work on your own, using your own initiative with support as and when necessary.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above (Masters, PhD) in Architecture, Engineering, planning or related natural sciences field.

  • Work experience of minimum 12 years in an international engineering /design / project management / sustainability consultancy.

  • Good knowledge on embodied carbon calculations (PAS 2080 a plus).

  • Good understanding on microclimate and outdoor thermal comfort solutions (ability to carry out simulations and calculations a plus).

  • Estidama PCRS PQP and/or LEED AP and/or BREEAM AP ((additional credentials a plus).

  • Good knowledge on the latest trends on the sustainability field and finding ways to implement them synergistically.

  • Analytical skills, detail oriented, well-organized, and able to work independently as well as part of a team, on multiple large-scale projects in parallel.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in the English.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Planning or related natural sciences field.

  • Documented participation in the preparation of a third-party sustainability certification application (e.g., LEED, Envision, Estidama), including at least two (2) completed, certified projects.

  • Experience on PAS 2080 and Green House Gas emissions calculations.

  • Experience in coordinating with diverse individuals and teams including client, consultant, contractor, design, and construction members to enable achievement of project sustainability objectives and targets.

  • Bring a clear understanding of global good sustainability consultancy practices and delivery of projects that include bespoke sustainability advice.
